Fishing Trips
Inshore Fishing for Striped Bass & Bluefish
Our inshore striper and bluefish trips are our most popular charters. These trips typically begin by leaving the harbor in search of bait. We encourage our clients to book early mornings if possible, as this is the time the fist are most active. During our early season charters (late May through the end of June) bait is usually plentiful, and fairly quick to locate. Once we find a good school of mackerel, it’s all hands on deck!
We’ll jig them up to the boat until we’ve filled the live well, then return to the coastal areas to find the schools of striped bass. Often times they are found cruising the beaches or rocky areas near shore. Live bait is often most effective on these fish, and the hook-ups can be exhilarating! Occasionally the fish can be spotted breaking on the surface, at which times the action can be fast and furious.
Inshore Fly Fishing for Striped Bass & Bluefish
Fly Fishing for striped bass has become increasingly popular, and our inshore fly fishing charters are top-notch. For our fly charters, we encourage our clients to book for a first light departure. This provides the angler with a shot at the fish when they are most active, and the winds at their calmest (not to mention some breathtaking sunrises.) We’ll typically fish the coastline anywhere from Walker’s Point in Kennebunk, all the way to the Nubble Lighthouse in York.
June through early July, as well as September, are often the peak times of the season for fly fishing. During this time, stripers can often be spotted in the shallow waters we fish cruising in search of food, and our Mako 18LTS is the perfect platform to target them from. Our boat is outfitted with top of the line Orvis rods and reels.
